ABOUT HOUSE OF MONTALVO
Designer: ASTRID MONTALVO
Born and raised in San Diego with a Rock N Roll aesthetic. We focus on using recycled materials & chains to create our tops , bottoms and jewelry. We recycle vintage jackets and hats to create high fashion Rock N Roll pieces. Our goal is to spread knowledge about: recycling, reusing, re-purposing materials and vintage clothing. We clean, fix then alter each jacket to make an EPIC creation. Each piece is a one of a kind; it will make every photo & event you attend, much more luxurious. Each piece is available to rent for $10 per piece / 7 day rental period.

HOW THE JACKET ARE MADE
Step 1: Curate from: local thrift stores, trade shops,vintage boutiques and even estate sales.
Step 2: Examine each jacket before purchasing and decide if it's worth all the QC it will need.
Step 3: WASH & CARE
*this lets us test out the jacket's longevity before altering & reselling.
Step 4: Sketch ideas of potential alterations options for each jacket.
( whether we are covering a mark/stain or completely redesigning the fit of the jacket)
Step 5: According to the sketch, each alteration is a 3 day process. Some glues need time to set,some fabrics need time to relax, and some paint jobs need time to dry.
Step 6: Come back in after 3 days of setting and do the final touches.
Cropping jackets can be easy but sometimes it needs extra strength to relax all the fraying.

Come in with an idea, location for shooting and the aesthetic you want. Leave it to Astrid to style you for your shoot.
The styling is FREE but the rental fee is just $10 per item with a 7 day rental length.
Come play dress up, try on options and pick the best fit you want to rock for your photo shoot.
Take the look for 7 days & bring it right back as soon as you are done so we can do it all over again.
Earn points for every rental piece you check out and eventually get freebie sessions.
